Special Dinner on the Night of Winterfest!

Posted by asijwellness in Restaurant

Restaurant Serena in Tama will have a special menu on Dec. 1 from 6 – 9pm for their second anniversary. It costs 5,000 yen and you need a reservation due to limited seating. They have a new chef who worked at a French restaurant in Ginza. The quality of the food, the presentation, the price are all commendable. It is roomy, comfortable and relaxing. Also, they DO have an English menu. Outside the restaurant is a staircase and near the staircase is a bulletin board. They will also be putting a copy of the menu there. It is located around the corner from the veggie shop right before crossing the rail tracks to Tama station.
The special menu in English is available at Yoshie’s desk, in front of the Admissions office in the HS bldg.
Thank you to Karen Rossetto for the info.

Monk’s Foods, Nataraj-Vegetarian Indian Restaurant

Posted by asijwellness in Restaurant

Monk’s Foods
Organic “Slowfood” Restaurant. I’m not sure what slowfood means but something healthy I guess! I had a wonderful and generous portioned organic vegan lunch there. Japanese style food with brown rice, various vegetable dishes, tofu, soup and tea all for 800yen at lunch time. They only have the one vegan set.

They are a few minutes walk from Kichijoji Station on the Inokashira Line (Tokyo).

Nataraj – Vegetarian Indian Restaurant
Many of the foods resemble dishes which have meat in them, but are in fact made from soybean protein. The food is really tasty. Even stubborn meat eaters will survive the experience. They use organic food and have brown rice. Excellent food!

The restaurant has 3 branches. The closest one to ASIJ is

Thank you to Claudia Yamamoto for these information.
