Meiji Jingu (Shrine) in Harajuku is the shrine honoring the Meiji Emperor. Over 100,000 types of trees collected from around the country have been planted within its vast borders, and you feel as if you are in a natural forest. Meiji Jingu is the nation’s most popular shrine for “Hatsumode,” or one’s first shrine-visit of the year, in the New Year.
