Raku Raku first gig of the year

Raku Raku is a band comprised of three ASIJ faculty, Dave Ryno Rynerson, Becky Gessert and Grant Rolls.

Our first gig of the year will be at What the Dickens Bar. (see map) Come along for a good night out of great beers and food with some good music to lay back and listen to the fourth best acoustic band in Chofu.

Community Friendship Day Celebration

The Embassy of the United States in Tokyo would like to invite you to attend its annual Community Friendship Day Celebration on Saturday, August 30th, 2008, from 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM!  The event will be held at the U.S. Embassy Housing Compound, and will include musical performances, taiko drummers, magicians, a parade, and more!  Admission to the Celebration will be 1,000 yen per person, and further information on the event and where to purchase tickets can be obtained on our event telephone hotline at (03)-3224-5501.

Garden Theater Cafe In the evening, the Lawn Plaza is transformed into an open-air cafe under the stars. 4pm-10pm, through Aug. 24.
Open-air theaterAfter sunset, the cafe becomes an open-air theater screening recent and classic movies. Movies start at sunset (around 7:30pm). Rental headsets and wooden chairs (limited to 60) available from 5pm (1,000yen charge, 500yen returnable deposit).
